Responsibilities:
- Instils the importance of safety in every staff and achieve zero accident in area of responsibility
- Plans, promotes and leads the productivity improvement programs in the maintenance of tonnage operations systems
- Assist in the maintenance of all ISO accreditation and quality assurances related to Penang tonnage operations
- Promote, lead and coordinate the effective implementation of environmental program and ensure the 100% buy in and compliance from every staff in Penang tonnage operations
- Support implementation and compliance of Quality, Safety and values of the company
- Implement the tonnage division annual plan in line with the corporate annual and long term plans.
- Support the effective implementation of the division’s annual plan and updating of the 5 year plans
- Aspire to achieve best practice performance in areas of customer technical service, safety, quality, technology and innovation so as to create a competitive advantage in these areas
- Develop technical core competencies that will ensure use of competitive advantage
- Ensure the safe, efficient and reliable operation of all tonnage production sites so that the country’s product cost base is always competitive in the market and comparable to the global prices
- Ensure the optimisation of the Penang tonnage plant capacities and support timely installation of needed production facilities to meet market demand
- Ensure Penang tonnage plant reliability and availability so that the current production facilities meet the market demand
- Ensure that the Penang tonnage production facilities are fully operational and optimise plant capacity and utilisation
- Support the identification, justification and execution of additional production facilities and on site plant conversion for existing customers
- Ensure that all the capital expenditures are budgeted within every fiscal year as required
- Ensure compliance of all sites and business operating units to national as well as logical legislative and Linde requirements
- Ensure that the quality of products and services from ex-gate of Penang tonnage production sites and services sections conform to customers’ requirements and company’s standards and specification
- Provide an environment where every employee is willing to contribute to the success of the company and commits and practices the set of values of the company and ensure utmost satisfaction of the customers’ needs and expectations.
- Ensure that every employee in the Penang tonnage is willing to contribute to the productivity, TQM and safety aspirations and the vision of the company
- Support the training and development of personnel that are qualified to meet the present and future requirements of the company through systematic replacement of the retiring and resigning employees
- Training and development of high potential staff to have an effective succession plan
- Ensure access to the technology of the company and its dissemination and application internally
- Ensure compliance and observance to key national and local legislative requirements of all tonnage production sites
- Ensure compliance and achievement of performance standards in all tonnage sites and operations
- Promote Site-safe program
- Report and investigate hazards, accidents and near misses
- Implement PPE standards
- Implement safe work, operating and emergency procedures
- Implement health and organisational rules
Requirements:
- Bachelors in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
- 1-2 years working experience in similar role or capacity.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Applicants must be willing to work in Penang.
- Applicants should be Malaysian citizens or hold relevant residence status.
